برنامج MailBox هو برنامج لا يتعدى الخمس دقائق يجيب فيه الشيخ:
يوسف إستس Yusuf Estes
على تساؤلات ترده على البريد الإلكتروني على موقعه.


اخترنا البرنامج لتنوع موضوعاته ، و لكونها تلامس حاجات الجمهور اليومية ، مما يعني حاجة الداعية للإحاطة بها و بما يخصها من مفردات و أساليب في حياته اليومية.






ستطرح الحلقات هنا بناء على تفاعلكم معها ، إذ أننا نأمل بعد طرح الحلقة متبوعة بتفريغها ، أن تناقشوا محتواها باللغة الإنجليزية لتعتادوا الدعوة باللغة الإنجليزية . المناقشة قد تكون عن أي شيء و بأي شكل من الأشكال : إضافة ، تجارب ، آراء ، آيات (مع ترجمتها) ذات صلة ، أحاديث (مع ترجمتها) ذات صلة ، أي شيء. و سنخصص أوسمة شكر و تميز لأصحاب الردود المتميزة و للأعضاء الأكثر فعالية في النقاش.







نأمل من خلال هذا النشاط أن : تنمية مهارة الاستماع لديكم بشكل ملحوظ إذ أن الشيخ يتحدث اللغة باللهجة الأمريكية الدارجة و بسرعتها المعتادة ، كما نأمل أن تزداد حصيلة المفردات الدعوية لديكم مما يسهل دعوة غير العرب ، و أخيرًا نرجو أن تحصلوا على الفائدة من المحتوى ذاته لكونه يتعلق بشؤون الحياة اليومية.

Okay.. We've got another email just came in. You're watching the Mailbox. I'm Yusuf Estes. And this one is saying:
"I'm confused about life. I feel depressed all the time. I'm bored and I'm tired of everything. And why does Islam forbid having fun like music and social drinking (alcohol) and dating just for fun. "
Okay. ha.. yeah.. well, first of all.. wanna talk about... Let's talk about your depression. You said your depression. You are experiencing that. And you're bored. You're tired of everything. This is from Shaytan. The believer doesn't get bored because he has so much to do. We are always busy; even if we were setting in the docotor's office in the waiting room, even if we were waiting at a red light.. traffic light in, you know, traffic. So, we have a lot to do because we are making Thekr to Allah. We're thanking Allah for giving us life, for giving us the opportunity to worship Him, for giving us a chance to be forgiven, and a chance to enter into His Jannah -His Paradise to be eternally and always at peace and feeling good and never depressed. We are talking about the Paradise in the Jannah. So, the Muslim has got a lot to do. We say Alhamduli Allah. We say Subhan Allah. We're talking about Allahu Akbar. All the time, remembering Allah. The famous expression: La Tansa Thekr Allah. Don't forget the remembrance of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. So, this is something for us to do. The other thing is to read the Quran more. Spend time with the Quran, and even if it's in translation form. Begin to understand that Allah is speaking to your heart. And then associate yourself closely with other good Muslims, and this should help a lot, too. Stay away from the things that you just mentioned right here, and maybe that will help, as well. Because it is not really fun sitting around listening to music and getting drunk and dating girls out and so and all that because what's happening here, really, is you're searching for something in the wrong place, and you're not gonna find happiness with it. The only happiness, true peace, you'll ever find is between you and Allah. That relationship is the relationship you need. Then, you won't need these other things. But, I realize that's just barely touching the subject for you. So, I would like for you to send me another email with more details about what's going on with your religious background and so on. and then, we'll try to help you more with that.

The next one here. Just came in. It says:
"Is tv haram?"
And I will tell you quickly: tv is not haram as long as you don't turn it on.. (laugh) but seriously, we are on tv, right now. And I hope you understand that there are some programs that are Haram. Others are not Haram. It's all in what you're watching, in general, but there are a lot of problems with that. And I would like you to go to our website to get more information about this, and type in the keyword: "tv haram", and then, you'll be able to get more details about it. It'll definitly improve your listening skills, and it'll also add to your Ajr if you join us nowadays. You never know; someone might actually use your words to talk to someone about Islam.

I’m totally agreed. especially for the western cultures.
Because, as you are seeing there books and discussions, it is all talking about self-healing, empowerment, and ideas to get over the depression.
The point which was in my mid since I saw the episode is, why they didn't realize yet the drawbacks and the things that they have to pay for the thinks which got mentioned there -music, social drinking, dating and TV- which include their health, money and the other issues that affect the entire family??.
If you got your self drunk, you dunno where you will wake up and Allah knows what've you done while drinking!
All these are temporary relieves, but they make the person more depressed as he realized what he was doing and what he has done.
If we just got the chance to tell them about the eternal happiness which they can found with Allah, it will make a big difference...
I liked the suggested idea for him to read the translated Qur’an.

I think that one of the primary causes of depression is disobedience towards Allaah
So, anyone who feels that must strive to use his spare time for beneficial and fruitful pursuits which will help him to draw closer to Allaah, from the moment he wakes until he goes to sleep. a
This will leave him with no free time to be depressed or bored. a

May Allaah help you and us to do all that is good. a

I totally agree with you too, but do they realize that all these kinds of things they are doing are just a matter of a few seconds of fake happiness? This is why they just keep doing it over and over again hoping "this time" it'll be the one that will give them what they want. They need someone to tell them that all this is an empty loop.

When someone is on the wrong path, because they feel depressed all the time, they keep doing wrong stuff (listen to music for example) all the time. They don't want to feel the burden of depression. I am sure this is how everyone who, as you said, disobeys Allah feels. I know this is how they feel.

How do you think we can guide someone out of such a life? Or can you give us an example of how we can be doing Ibadah all the time, as you mentioned?i
