Using deception and trickery to do forbidden deeds is worse than merely doing them outright, because it is disrespectful and exhibits bad etiquette towards the All-Knowing. It is imitating the Jews: when Allah forbade fishing on the Sabbath (Saturday), they set up their nets on Friday and emptied the capture on Sunday.)
Allah called the trickery of the mushrikeen to make fighting permissible in the sacred months an addition to disbelief: "The postponing (of a Sacred Month) is indeed an addition to disbelief" (Q 9:37, interp of meaning). Ayoob said: They tried to trick Allah as they would trick children. If they do forbidden things without trickery, it would be less serious.

If all virtues were attained they would boil down to two things: venerating Allah and striving to reconcile between people. So glad tidings to the one who reconciles between his children or employees or brothers or neighbours. "and he who does this, seeking the good Pleasure of Allah, We shall give him a great reward" [Q 4:114, interp of meaning]

Regarding the above hadeeth, Al-Qurtubi said: Tribulation and great hardship will happen until the matter of religion is taken lightly and people will care about nothing but their worldly affairs and how to earn a living. So worship becomes very important at times of tribulation.

It was narrated from Ma'qil ibn Yasaar that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Worshipping at times of tribulation and confusion is like migrating to join me." (Muslim) Al-Nawawi said: The reason why worship at such times is of such great virtue is that people become negligent about worship and are distracted from it, and no one focuses on worship except a few.

"Hospitality [for hosting a visiting guest] lasts for three days, and anything after that is charity, but it is not permissible for him to stay with him for so long that he causes him hardship." (al-Bukhari) & in a report by Muslim" until he causes him to sin." Hardship means annoying him by staying too long. Kinds of hardship include: not having enough food; keeping him from doing some important task; causing hardship to his wife and daughters. Causing him to sin may be because he backbites about him, or thinks badly of him.

In the Sunnah the believer is likened to: the bee which eats nothing but good food & the believer chooses that which is good to nourish his soul and body; the date palm, which is good and bears good fruit and all parts of it are of benefit, so too the believer is all good b/c of his many acts of worship and people benefit from him even after his death; crops which the wind bends right and left but they still stand firm, thus the believe is patient and seeks reward no matter what calamities befall him.

Al-Nu'maan ibn Basheer said: The Shaytaan has tricks by which he ensnares people. The tricks of the shaytaan include being thankless for the blessings of Allah, boasting about the gifts of Allah, being arrogant towards fellow people, & following whims and desires when they lead one away from Allah. al-Adab al-Mufrad (553), classed as hasan by al-Albaani.

We should all beseech Allah for the sake of our brothers & sisters in Gaza. Whenever Salah al-Deen al-Ayoobi heard that the enemy was attacking the Muslims, he fell down in prostration & said: "O Allah, my earthly means of supporting Your religion are cut off; there remains nothing but turning to You and clinging to Your rope and trusting in Your grace; You are sufficient for me and are the best disposer of affairs." One of his companions said: I saw him prostrating, tears falling on his grey beard then on his mat.

Allaah says: "In them will be maidens chaste restraining their glances" [Q 55:56] & "companions restrained in pavilions" [Q 55:27]. Allaah praises al-hur al-'iyn for two types of restraint: restraint of their glances which means that they look at no one but their husbands, unlike the women of this world; & they are restrained in pavilions & do not go out as Allaah said to the wives of His Prophet: "And stay in your houses" [Q 33:33]. These two attributes are well known among the Arabs as being attributes of beautiful women.

It was said to al-Hasan: So and so does not preach; he says, I am afraid to say that which I do not do. He said: Which of us does what he says? The shaytaan would love this idea to prevail, then there would be no one who would enjoin what is good, and if the one who is a sinner does not exhort the people, who will exhort the sinners after Muhammad (peace be upon him)?

Describing the Prophet as the Beloved of Allaah is a kind of belittling his status. It is better to say Close Friend of Allaah, because he said: "Allaah has taken me as a Close Friend as He took Ibrahim as a Close Friend." Close friendship is higher than love, because it includes love and more, and because it is proven that Allaah loves all those who are pious, just, patient and so on, but His close friendship is only proven in the case of the Prophet and Ibrahim (peace be upon them both).

Motives to spend on one's family: natural inclination towards kindness; their ongoing requests; shyness lest others describe one as stingy; to avoid problems; seeking praise and boasting, so one will be called generous; hope that one's children will honour one in the future; love of one's wife and fear that she may not be pleased. But it will not be rewarded unless "if a Muslim spends on his family seeking reward with Allah thereby, then it will be charity on his part." (Bukhari & Muslim)
