Does any body know the meaning of this word

I searched this word in more than one English-English dictionary but I did not find it
This word is used usually in mathematics and in the programming languages
Actually the word parameter lets me puzzle about its definition
So if any body knows the meaning of this word, please let us know

الباراميتر في اللغات البرمجية عادة يكون عبارة عن قيم تعطى للمثود method (أو الفنكشن في لغات أخرى Function) بحيث تؤثر هذه القيمة على مخرجات الميثود.

يعني،،

لو قلنا عندنا الفنكشن التالي في الـC++ :

int func(int x , int y)
{
int z = x + y;
return z;
}

لو سويت نداء للفنكشن،

func(3,4);

3 و 4 يعتبرون باراميترز ممرة للفنكشن.

لو غيرتهم بتطلع لي نتيجة ثانية ،،

إذا كان عندي خطأ صححوا لي ،،

هذا والله أعلم!!
